Martha’s Bio
Martha Rice, M.Sc., SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist | Voice & Communication Under Pressure
Martha is a speech-language pathologist and founder of Partners in Expression, a practice focused on voice and communication under pressure.
Drawing on more than two decades of clinical experience, Martha explores how voice, nervous system regulation, and communication interact in high-stakes environments. Her work supports professionals in developing communication that remains steady, clear, and connected when the stakes rise.
During her time in the school system, she contributed to professional development for staff and served on a departmental committee supporting staff learning. Much of this work explored social-emotional learning, self-regulation, and how the nervous system influences communication and behaviour—topics that were far less widely understood at the time. These experiences deepened her interest in how physiology, regulation, and communication interact in both learning and leadership environments.
Alongside her clinical work, Martha has served in governance roles including six years as president of a family foundation and board service with a Canadian organization supporting microfinance initiatives in South Africa.
Her talks combine clinical insight, practical application, and embodied awareness, offering audiences a deeper understanding of how voice and communication function under pressure.
